Opportunities in distribution include forklift operators, pickers/packers, mechanics, supervisors and other disciplines.

  • Plans, organizes, and oversees shipping activities according to inventory receiving schedules, manpower availability, and marketing deadlines. This consists of branch-to-branch transfer requests. Maintains proper rotation of finished goods from Inventory Control (FIFO). Oversees inventory activities related to the pick lines and backorders including adding new products, removing old products, adjusting damaged products, and completing replenishment tasks. Directs the processing of CDS conversion requests.

  • Assists with all warehouse duties including coordinating work activities of all warehouse employees. Recommends procedures to enhance the quality and efficiency of order filling operations. Assists supervisor with planning production line up. Runs daily production reports from WM and pick-to-light systems. In the absence of a supervisor, performs supervisor’s duties.

  • Determines impact to the operation by checking specific locations for inventory and initiates the order filling waves for pick line operation. At the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, determines wave induction priority based on particular goals for the day. Assigns tasks from the wave to forklift drivers.

  • Adheres to the Distribution Center cycle count and pick line audit procedures. Monitors cycle counting tasks are completed daily and that all supporting documentation is generated and filed. May check integrity of WM Cycle Counts by monitoring daily, weekly, and monthly system generated cycle count reports. May take responsibility for weekly verification of “Open Slot Report” audit. Supports the reconciliation process and post inventory evaluation. Ensures accurate receiving records are maintained, coordinates weekly cycle counts throughout the year, and reviews documentation to support adjustments to the perpetual inventory records. Reviews daily distribution reports to maintain and improve order processing levels of finished product for customers. Develops and implements control systems, interprets information, and implements problem-solving actions and continuous improvement processes.

  • Interfaces with Managers and Supervisors within the Branch to manage/resolve problems or issues with inventory availability, customer service issues, and/or distribution process. Appropriately elevates inventory, distribution, and/or customer service problems. Interfaces with Corporate Warehouse to resolve inventory and receiving problems.

  • Resolves issues pertaining to pick line operation and equipment malfunctions. Works with IST to resolved computer system issues. Performs inventory adjustments and explains adjustments as needed. Runs inventory audit reports as required. Pulls obsolete or expired product from line or reserve location when requested. Assists with additional projects or assumes additional duties as needed.

  • Trains Forklift Operators where applicable. Provides assistance to Forklift Operators regarding the tasking process by fielding questions and issues. May operate forklift to expedite product throughout warehouse. Serves as backup for the Supervisor in their absence. Serves as an expert backup for all warehouse jobs: Order Filler I and II, Forklift Operator I, II, and III, (order filling, packing, quality control, shipping, CDS, and Starter Kits). Coordinates assembly line operations for special projects.

High school diploma or equivalent experience.


Experience


3-5 years of related work experience, warehouse along with working knowledge of all warehouse jobs to successfully coordinate activities of employees and materials movement.


  • Must have good time management and organizational skills to manage multiple contests simultaneously and provide exceptional customer service. Must be an individual contributor as well as a team player. Must be proactive and be able to interact with all levels within the organization.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of the proper handling of hazardous materials, the use of materials safety data sheets (MSDS), and the safe operation of forklift equipment. DOT and IATA certification as a hazardous materials trainer is strongly desired.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with subordinates and other Distribution personnel. Must have. Basic knowledge of MS Software such as Excel and Word. MS Outlook is a must. Must have knowledge and experience with stock locator and warehouse management systems. Must have working knowledge of personal computers in a Windows environment to navigate online programs associated with Mary Kay Inc. Business Systems (WM/JDE).
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required to effectively direct multiple inventory functions.
  • Must be flexible to change schedule due to changing business needs.
  • Must be able to lift and push a minimum weight of 20 to 50 pounds to occasionally move boxes of inventory and load UPS trucks and move shipment throughout warehouse.
  • Must be able to perform mathematical calculations as demonstrated by successfully passing a math test, including addition, subtraction, simple multiplication, and division in order to prepare reports and calculate results of cycle and inventory counts.
  • Must be able to successfully complete Mary Kay Inc. forklift certification within probationary period of 90 days.
  • Must be able to continuously stand and walk to coordinate the processing of orders and backorders and assist in pulling orders/packing orders, and to push, pull, and reach to remove product from pick line or upper shelves, and frequently stoop to lift items from lower shelves or skids, and then lift.
  • Must be able to frequently stoop, push, pull, and reach to place boxes on the line, push boxes on conveyor line, and reach for boxes when filling orders.
  • Good manual dexterity required to continuously manipulate small objects, prepare paperwork, and repair equipment.
  • Good vision required to verify product accuracy and record quality documentation.
  • Must be able to utilize interpersonal skills to work well with and for others within the department and the Company.
  • Must be able to meet all production/quality expectations as defined by department for this job.
  • Incumbent should possess strong leadership skills and show a willingness to take initiative.
  • Support production environment at month end and during peak periods where needed.
  • Must have good manual dexterity to pull and pack product in shipping boxes, form boxes, stock the pick line, and operate keyboard to enter data into shipping system.
  • Must be able to maintain an attendance record in good standing. More specifically incumbent is required to meet all "Attendance and Punctuality" guidelines as specified in Employee Handbook and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
