Statement of Purpose: Prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines and regulations with established policies and procedures. Ensures quality food service is provided at all times.

Reports to: Executive Chef

Compensation: This position is hourly and non-exempt from overtime

Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

· Prepares and serves high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and dietary needs.

· Follows daily production sheets using outlined standards, accurate portioning and correct temperature.

· Tastes all prepared food items to confirm correct flavoring and ensures attractive presentation.

· Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty.

· Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

· Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures.

· Keeps refrigerators, freezers and storerooms clean and neat.

· Ensures food and supply items are stored and labeled per standards.

· Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.

· Labels, dates and properly stores all food items.

· Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.

· Attends in-service and safety meetings.

· Follows HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) to ensure quality and safety of food supply.

· Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.

· Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, residents and guests.

· Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.87 per hour

Experience:

  • commercial kitchen: 1 year (Required)
  • Safe knife handling: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain (Preferred)
  • Maricopa County Food Handlers Card (Required)
