Join our team in helping prepare and serve meals to facility clients in accordance with menu plans, using standardized recipes and in accordance with clients' physician prescribed dietslocated in Homer Glen.This part-timeCook works together with the Dietary team to create meal experiences that are both tasty and nutritious and leaves one's taste buds in anticipation of the next bite. Essential Functions:

  • Following menu plans, prepare a variety of high quality food in specified quantities, using standardized recipes.
  • Keep work area clean and follow all sanitation guidelines.
  • Perform all duties following safety guidelines and requirements in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
  • Follow meal plans/menus as determined by the food service manager or program director.
  • Maintain inventory of food, equipment, and supplies in the kitchen area.

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in commercial or institutional cooking preferred.
  • Sanitation license preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to the cultural and personal diversity within the service population.
  • Ability to work and communicate well with others and follow directions.
