SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for understanding and implementing our shared HEP vision, mission, and values. With safety being top priority, the control team leader will be responsible for the field team that installs, programs and delivers HVAC controls systems on both construction projects and directly to owner accounts. Team leader will provide leadership of controls technicians including achievement of department objectives and goals consistent with overall organization strategy. Team leader s responsibilities will include satisfied customers, profit performance, personnel development, and operation excellence, as well as contract compliance.

PRIMARY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and manage controls technicians.
  • Carry out management/leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization s policies and applicable laws.
  • Ensure quality standards are met for all controls operations, processes and functions to provide for the safe execution of work and customer satisfaction.
  • Overall fulfillment responsibility for the following functions: order validation, order entry, order follow up, customer inquiry, project management, technical support, factory warranty, claim management, and resource allocations.
  • Responsible for internal communications flow relative to the fulfillment process. This includes interface with Sales, Parts, Controls, Contracting, and Administrations for controls related problems and opportunities.
  • Monitor, measure, and modify process and process measurements to effectively and efficiently meet customer needs.
  • Work with other HEP controls team leaders and technical centers to establish required skill sets, talents, and capabilities across the organizations, as well as to meet variable workloads between our markets.
  • Contribute ideas to overall business strategy and plans as part of the leadership team.
  • Interact with sales to ensure smooth hand off of projects from the sales process.
  • Coach the controls team with positive reinforcement to help each person consistently improve, as well as provide technical support and training in the field to team members.
  • Perform controls work in the field as required.
  • Document work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration; and maintain files.
  • Assist billing coordinator to help ensure department remains cash flow positive.
  • Manage controls inventory in an organized and detailed manner to be efficient in controls parts procurement.
  • Responsible for keeping abreast of products, product design and requirements for successful installation of HEP represented control lines. Insure this information is communicated as appropriate to the team.
  • Review project performance and monitor through the training and turnover phase.
  • Make recommendations of tools and capital requirements for the team during budget phase each year.
  • Assist with recruiting and/or interviewing to help grow the business.
  • Some travel with occasional overnight stays may be required. (3-5% of the time)
  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours may be required, including weekends on occasion.
  • Assist sales with site surveys and/or recommendations on new projects and estimates.
  • Assist service team during and after the warranty period when needed.
  • Assist contracting with timelines and support on HEP contracting jobs.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
  • Work and collaborate with other departmental team leaders to help achieve our overall company vision, mission, and values.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma, Related Associates degree or equivalent from a Technical/Trade school or 2 years related experience in construction and/or low voltage installation. IT & TCP/IP and 10 years of HVAC controls and controls integration experience is a must. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

State driver s license, auto insurance, auto registration, acceptable driving record.

Tridium Niagara N4 and Technical Certifications

PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

JCI/KMC Programmable unit controller training certificates

Tridium Niagara Advanced Technical Certifications

SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED:
