Job Purpose

The PublicSq. Controller will lead the Accounting department and be the owner of the financial system, processes, and statements of the Company. The Controller will report to the Chief Financial Officer.

Role and Responsibilities

• Oversee general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements, along with supporting reconciliations and schedules
• Lead the development and maintenance of technical accounting positions supporting the Company’s financial results
• Oversee the preparation, recording, analysis, and reporting of accounting transactions and ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with GAAP
• Create, implement, and maintain accounting policies, processes, and procedures
• Provide financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget
• Own month-end and year-end processes
• Key interim and year end audit liaison; manage requests from auditors with confidence and meet audit deadlines

Qualifications

• CPA license required
• Public audit or public company Controller experience required
• SaaS technology company experience preferred
• 10-20 years experience in increasingly responsible accounting positions
• Proficient knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, including but not limited to working knowledge of ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 718
• Proven track record as a team leader
• Analytical problem-solving skills with an impeccable attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and build a consensus in a high-pressure environment

• Willing to commute to the office location in Rancho Santa Fe, CA
• Ability to travel, when needed
