National Retailer based in Orange County, CA is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager / Controller. Responsibilities include keeping principals updated at all times on the financials of the company. Overseeing financial statements, balance sheets, invoices, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Direct department operations, compiling financial reports, overseeing / supervising accounting staff and the timely caring out of procedures for financial reporting.
Job Duties:
· Reports directly to CEO
· Prepare and publish timely financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts and statements to understand the financial state of the business
· Maintain general ledgers and supporting schedules
· Supervision of accounting staff
· Monitor company’s financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs
· Keep up to date on the financial market to understand how to maximize profits and find new expansion areas
· Critical understanding of legal requirements for company to keep in good standing
· Reconcile payroll and insurance benefits reporting disbursements
· Exercise excellent judgement and business acumen at all times
· Comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
· Additional duties as necessary
Requirements and skills:
Candidate should have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business Administration. Consideration given to equivalent business experience, as well as, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
· Proven experience working as a Controller or Accounting Manager
· 5+ years of experience in accounting and finance
· Advanced degree in accounting / CPA or CMA preferred
· Proficient in Oracle, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office and ADP Workforce
· Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
· Experience creating financial statements
· Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end / year-end close process
· Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
· Must posses excellent communication skills both verbal and written
· Take initiative, positive attitude, organized to efficiently meet deadlines
· Retail industry experience is a plus
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
