Become a Contractor Yards Inspection Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll work in the Vegetation, Inspections & Operational Services (VIOS) Business Line within our Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T&D). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing site inspection and oversight support for SCE and contractor personnel. As a Contractor Yards Inspection Advisor, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Overseeing contractor material laydown yards and ensuring program and process adherence.
  • Performing and reporting on monthly site inspections, tracking and reporting of yard conditions.
  • Managing identification, preparation, relocation, closure, and/or expansion of contractor material laydown yards.
  • Attending monthly contractor meetings and related meetings as necessary.
  • Leading and directing cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and effectively managing project budget, scope, milestones, and deliverables.
Qualifications


The essentials

  • Seven or more years of experience supporting and/or implementing Inspection programs.
  • Valid Driver's license.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related field.
  • Three years of experience managing multiple projects.
  • Experience with Distribution and Transmission material inventory processes.
  • Experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience making recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

  • Position will require up to 90% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
  • Relocation does not apply to this position.

Testing

  • This position requires testing and applicants who are identified to continue through the selection process will be invited to test via email. Reference our Information Guides for the following test(s): Edison Individual Contributor Workstyles (Test #8203). Candidates who have previously passed these assessment(s), in some cases, may not need to retest again for this position.
