Position: Consumer Lending Sales Representative

Hours of Work:
Full-time, Non-Exempt
40 hours a week during Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Saturday hours required seasonally and as business needs require.

To the extent permitted by law, the Company may, in its sole discretion, change the work schedule to address business needs. Work hours will depend on the business hours of the time zone serviced.

In This Role, You Will…
Support branch operations by learning functions of consumer finance and demonstrating proficiency by meeting or exceeding team sales and delinquency targets/goals. Provide a full range of virtual services via our online platform/system to individual customers focused on personal financial lending, collections, sales, customer service, and relationship-building. You will also contact delinquent customers to determine reason(s) for delinquency and collect overdue payments.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides exceptional customer service by proactively solving problems, presenting loan solutions based on customer needs, and enthusiastically presenting all available sales products.
  • Assists customers via online and by telephone to open and service their accounts.
  • Conducts loan interviews over the phone and enter information into an automated recordkeeping system.
  • Proactively contacts borrowers with past-due accounts by telephone or mail to offer rewrite of loan or request payment.
  • Negotiates extensions and modifications of loans and arranges payment schedules.
  • Assesses customers’ current financial needs and determines if customer has available cash on account or if customer needs to restructure debt to a home equity bill consolidation loan.
  • Sells the company’s current product lines, including but not limited to personal loans, home equity loans, and sales finance.
  • Reviews assigned accounts to determine if collection methods have been effective.
  • Makes recommendations to Centralized Branch Manager to review accounts for special handling or intensified collections actions.
  • Processes incoming payments on active and charged-off accounts.
  • Prepares and forwards required debits with payment and update account payment history.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records on past due accounts and collection actions.
  • Prepares a wide range of electronic documents for varying purposes, including review and action by MVA, attorneys, repossession agencies, etc.
  • Retrieves specific documents electronically from loan files.
  • Analyzes credit and financial information.
  • Posts customer garnishments into the General Ledger (GL) and advise on legal payments.
  • Completes all warrant in debt and garnishment paperwork for submission to court including notating CIM accounts, scanning and mailing defendant copies, and preparing out-of-state mailings when applicable.
  • Copies all documents and forwards assembled document packages to appropriate party on a timely basis.
  • Ensures that loan collection actions on assigned accounts are appropriate and timely and that established policies and procedures are observed.
  • Answers incoming telephone calls and customers’ questions regarding perceived differences in payment records by researching and explaining payment history and timing differences as recorded.
  • Achieves consistent results and meet or exceed expected team goals related to the sale of company products and services.
  • Learns Federal, State, and Local Application Consumer laws to ensure compliant actions.
  • May perform additional functions depending on market demand and department staffing in order to provide consistent quality customer service.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a customer service or sales position.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills in demanding situations.
  • Effective communications (written & oral) and personal computer skills.
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Ability to complete essential duties/functions in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Must obtain applicable, required licenses to sell insurance products offered to customers by the branch.
  • Must perform work related tasks at the assigned work location except in the event of an emergency as determined by the company in consultation, as necessary, with applicable regulatory agencies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Selling and/or collecting experience.
  • Previous experience within a customer contact center.
  • Some college coursework.
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish/English.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty (20) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
