Responsible for providing an enhanced member experience for consumer loan applications through direct communication with members, achieved by overseeing and responding to loan appeals, escalated member issues, and member survey responses. This includes liaising with members, the Consumer Lending staff and Member Service Representatives while upholding UNFCU’s commitment to service excellence. Responsible for reviewing the underwriting criteria used to decline consumer loan applications. Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations and UNFCU’s Code of Ethics & Business Conduct. What you'll do:

- Serve as a point of contact for members who have applied for a consumer loan.
- Provide consumer loan application related support for digital banking, representative office and branch staff members.
- Receive, review, and respond to member appeals for previously declined loan applications, ensuring that UNFCU Consumer Loan guidelines, NCUA and other legal requirements were applied.
- Make alternative recommendations for non-qualified loans by exploring counter offer opportunities.
- Provide financial education and guidance directly to members by phone or email.
- Provide loan application status to members.
- Receive, review, and respond to tickets generated from Qualtrics member surveys with a score of 2 or lower (out of 5).
- Receive, review, and respond to escalated member applications and/or issues via our case management system.
- Receive, review, and respond to member comments on declined loan applications via our loan origination system.
- Bachelor’s degree, or some college coursework completed, and 5+ years of experience performing consumer lending functions in a medium to large sized organization
- Experience in a loan origination/operations/servicing or collections organization preferred
- Full range of consumer lending knowledge
