Job description
Responsibilities
Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans and with direction of General Superintendent
Monitors attendance of crew
Allocate general and daily responsibilities
Supervise and assist in training workers
Ensure manpower and resources are adequate for General Superintendent
Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
Monitor expenditure and report to General Superintendent
Resolve problems when they arise and create solutions
Report on progress to General Superintendent
Report hours and progress daily by submitting a daily report to the General Superintendent
Requirements and skills
Experience as construction foreman
In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSHA guidelines
Understanding of heavy civil construction and underground utilities (AEP, ATT, Gas, Water and Sewer)
Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Ability to communicate and report effectively
Aptitude in math as it relates to survey elevations
Problem-solving abilities
Good physical condition and stamina
High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade
