Purpose of Job:

The Compliance/Documentation Generalist is responsible for technology team documentation and compliance of IT systems within GOAL Academy while assisting the Cybersecurity Manager and Director of Infrastructure Services in the successful execution of IT projects and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Lead efforts to document IT processes and compliance policies.
    • Function as GOAL POC for IT day-to-day compliance and documentation issues.
    • Provides compliance and documentation plans and requests and recommendations to the Chief Information Officer.
    • Reports compliance and documentation specific help desk, server, and network metrics to the Director of Infrastructure Services.
    • Performs hands-on audits of school systems and ensures full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
    • Seeks out and implements operational efficiencies with respect to the systems in use at GOAL Academy.
    • Provides tier 2-3 support via remote support and helpdesk[BD1] .
    • Assists Cybersecurity Manager by analyzing systems, responding to alerts, and mitigating organizational risk.
    • Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations.
    • Remain up to date on federal and state laws related to the organization and update policies accordingly.
    • Perform compliance audits to determine whether established protocols are being followed and areas of improvement.
    • Create and maintain up to date written documentation and policies related to the department’s activities.
    • Create a compliance resource library for staff members to reference for questions.
    • Works with colleagues to ensure consistency of documentation practice across the Tech Department.
    • Trains employees in efficient documentation usage.
    • Assists with both internal and external audits.
    • Ensures documentation integrity.


Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ability to treat sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
    • Any additional reporting required by the Chief Information Officer.
    • 10-30% travel required, in-state only.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
:


Education and Experience
:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Computer Science, Business Administration and Management Information Systems, preferred.
  • 1 year of Compliance Writing required; OR
  • Minimum 3 years’ Compliance Writing experience may be substituted in place of a degree.
  • Minimum 2 years’ documented experience in technical or procedural writing required.


  • Certifications, preferred
    • CompTIA A+ or equivalent
    • CompTIA Project+ or equivalent


Or other background demonstrating application of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft environment.
  • Ability to conduct virtual training.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
