ACS is a comprehensive care behavioral health provider that provides diverse services in the seven western counties of North Carolina. ACS Outpatient Centers, Facility Based Crisis, and Adult Group Homes are located in Murphy, Hayesville, Bryson City, Robbinsville, Franklin, and Waynesville NC.

We are looking for caring, kind, respectful and teachable Community Mental Health Assistants (CMHA) to assist our clients in a professional and compassionate manner on our Adult Recovery Unit (ARU). The ARU is a 16-bed facility that serves adults in need of crisis stabilization and detox and is located in beautiful Waynesville, NC.

Community Mental Health Assistants provide a crucial role in the provision of comprehensive care at ACS and specifically on our Adult Recovery Unit. As a CMHA you would:

• Supervise and monitor clients to ensure their safety
• Monitor and observe clients for behavioral changes related to mental health and substance use disorders
• Facilitate daily client, and client family, education groups
• Document in client health records

We place importance on the continued growth of all care professionals so we have committed to offering on-going training and support to all staff in seeking continued education, certifications, and licensures.

To be eligible for a Caregiver, Direct Support Professional position with ACS you must have earned a high school diploma or GED. CNA's or persons interested in being CNA's are welcome.
