Standalone graphics is not required, but reachback on a project basis is desired.
  • Track and maintain backlog of success opportunities, monitor current events, and coordinate with program stakeholders in order to recommend, coordinate, and collaborate with Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD), as well as other organizations and agencies on timely, relevant media products related to success stories.
  • Support success-story related inquiries from other organizations within and outside of NASA (e.g., Office of Legislative Affairs requests state or congressional district-specific stories) or external.
Requirements:
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related subject area
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Ability to consolidate complex science and engineering topics into concise, attention-grabbing, and comprehensible materials for the public
  • Excellent writing, editing (web/photo/video/text), digital content creation, presentation, and communication skills with knowledge of online best practices
  • Consistent track record producing and delivering high impact events, experiences and products
  • Ability to establish partnerships and collaborate with high level stakeholders and handling a variety of strategic and budgetary planning
  • Experience developing and implementing large scale communications campaigns and reporting metrics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, project management software, Adobe Creative Suite, Slack and social media platforms
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Willingness to occasionally work outside of core hours to support events
