We are seeking a Commercial Manager for our Corporate Office in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
Position Summary:
This is an outside sales role. Identify and develop new business opportunities with assigned customer or within assigned market segment. May manage or direct one or more Inside Sales Specialists. Familiar with industry contacts, concepts, practices and procedures. Reports to a Business Development Director or Executive Director of Sales.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Identifies and pursues new business opportunities with the application of various plastics materials and processes for exterior, interior and structural/functional applications with assigned customer of market.
  • Using knowledge of company capabilities and customer needs, creates presentations for new or existing product lines.
  • Responsible for quote preparation, explanation and justification. Interfaces internally as needed to obtain tooling and other costs.
  • Participates in planning for future support requirements in design, analysis, materials R&D, testing illustration and other product related areas.
  • Ensures all orders, quotes, and other requirements are processed in customer’s and company systems in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Directs customer interface/communication to meet Sales, Service and Marketing needs.
  • May manage and direct one or more Insides Sales Specialists.
  • Responsible for ensuring that customer requirements are met.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business.
  • Must be proficient using GM Supplier Power.
  • Ability to manage day-to-day interaction/open issues with customer purchasing and engineering teams.
  • Experience in plastics and composite materials a plus.
  • Minimum of five years of sales experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Project.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of automotive and commercial vehicle industry requirements and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects including communication and coordination between customers and internal departments.
  • Knowledge of order entry systems and quotation processes.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
