Avery Products is looking for an energetic and experienced Collections Specialist to join our team. We process high volumes of transactions and remittances. As part of our team, you will reconcile account receivables, post payments and access bank to obtain global payment advices. Our ideal candidate is a motivated problem-solver who can collaborate effectively, act as a customer advocate, self-starter and possesses accurate data entry skills, with an eye for detail and interested in a position that will grow with their job skills/with room for advancement.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The individual will be responsible for cash application/applying payments to customer’s accounts.
  • Advise Credit Analyst of deductions or unidentified payments on customer’s accounts.
  • Provide support to Credit Analysts – gather, analyze and validate debit memos, request proof of delivery, data entry
  • Provide credit references as needed.
  • Maintain exempt tax cert files, request news ones as they expire and upload to Ava-Tax.
  • Maintain and prepare Memorandum of Insurance (MOI) and COI files.

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree preferred or equivalent accounting/finance experience.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in business-to-business, cash application. credit/collections and deduction management.
  • Must be able to work effectively across functional and organizational boundaries.
  • Must have good understanding of the order to payment process.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills (both oral and written).
  • Proficiency with Excel, MS Word and Outlook.
