Collections Analyst

Roetzel & Andress, LPA, a multi-state law firm with an administrative center in Akron, Ohio, has an immediate inhouse opening for a Collections Analyst to support the Finance Department.

Candidate will work with attorneys, legal assistants, processors and clients. Candidate must maintain a high level of confidentiality and perform duties in a timely and accurate manner.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Incoming calls to process credit card payments, answer questions, direct to other firm personnel
  • Outgoing collection calls (personal and commercial)
  • Negotiating client settlements and payment plans
  • Work as Liaison between attorney and/or client and/or Billing
  • Work with Billing to resolve issues and facilitate billing adjustments
  • Work with A/R on payment issues
  • E-billing appeal processing – gather info from timekeepers to submit appeal, work with billers to update overrides in system as needed
  • Submit write-off requests
  • Identifying problem accounts and working with Firm Management and attorneys to resolve
  • Review A/R aging
  • Provide reports to clients/attorneys/management via Crystal or Excel, as requested
  • Review collections process and adjust as needed
  • May back up accounts receivable or work on special projects as needed

  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Elite, ARCS, and Crystal Reports experience helpful
  • Prior collection experience required

The candidate must also pass a background and credit check as a condition for employment.
