Job Summary:
The Credit & Collections (C&C) Manager is responsible for all activities in the Company’s global accounts receivable, credit and collections functions. This position is responsible for communicating with slow-paying customers to ensure that collections are maximized, and bad debt write-offs are minimized. The Credit & Collections (C&C) Manager will communicate with the Company’s sales teams worldwide to ensure that the proper level of credit is extended to customers. This position provides leadership and oversees key operational and financial processes and decisions for Accounts Receivable, Credit and Collections teams to improve performance and efficiencies.
Responsibilities (Specific tasks, duties, essential functions of the job)
Credit & Collections Manager

  • Manage, lead, train and develop direct reports to accomplish the goals and objectives of the AR Department.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing and distribution of all invoices for the company.
  • Research, explain and resolve any variances in invoices.
  • Maintain sales AR aging and keep current and in-line with annual targets.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls in connection with SOX and GDPR compliance.
  • Negotiate payment plans with customers having past due accounts.
  • Maintain target level of DSO (Days sales outstanding) and bad debt write-offs.
  • Assesses credit worthiness of the company’s providers (sales and rental) and establish appropriate credit limits based on comprehensive financial analysis.
  • Interface with collection agencies, when necessary.
  • Oversee provider bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Monthly interface with CCC, Receiving and DTP departments and resolve issues at the root cause when they appear on the AR agings.
  • Interface with Sales Management for monthly AR aging reviews and credit or payment issues with major customers.
  • Maintain strong relationships with all customers, especially major customers.
  • Review bad debt reserves monthly and ensure adequate coverage for potential losses.
  • Coordinate/delegate audit requests for AR and Sales selections.
  • Maintain RMA process and keep RMA aging current and in line with targets.
  • Maintain and enforce Credit and Collections Policy in SOP-63-013.
  • Provide/prepare AR reporting and metrics.

Credit & Collections Manager, Senior
In addition to items listed for Credit & Collections Manager, a Credit & Collections Manager,Senior may also be responsible for the following.

  • Prepares and analyzes summary reports, such as Accounts Receivable Quality Measures, Accounts Receivable Agings, and Write-off Reason Analysis.
  • Maintain and enforce Credit & Collections Policy (SOP-63-013) – update annually or as needed.
  • Audits delinquent accounts considered to be uncollectible to ensure maximum efforts have been taken before assigning bad-debt status to account.
  • Ongoing evaluation and assessment of the Company’s global credit risk.
  • Provide detailed credit analysis for CFO on orders over assigned approval limit.
  • Manage the Company’s credit insurance and third-party financing relationships.
  • Frequently interface with Sales Management (Director and above) for monthly AR aging reviews, payment issues with major customers, and credit limit reviews for new/existing customers.
  • Coordinate/delegate internal and external audit requests for AR and Sales selections.

Qualifications (Experience and Education)
Level I
Credit & Collections Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or related field of study, preferred.
  • 7 years’ experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit and Collections, required.
  • 2 years’ experience in personnel management, with a minimum of 5 direct reports, required.
  • Credit and collections experience within the medical industry, preferred.
  • Public company experience with a general knowledge of SOX, preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge/proficiency in Microsoft Office, required.
  • Oracle EBS experience, preferred.
  • A combination of training, education and experience that is equivalent to the qualifications listed above and that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Level II
Credit & Collections Manager, Senior

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field of study, required.
  • 10 years’ experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit and Collections, required.
  • 4 years’ experience in personnel management, with a minimum of 5 direct reports, required.
  • Credit & Collections experience within the medical industry, preferred.
  • Public company experience with a general knowledge of SOX, required.
  • Advanced knowledge/proficiency in Microsoft Office, required.
  • Oracle EBS experience, required.
  • Certified credit detail-oriented accreditation (CCE, CBA, CBF, CCRA, CICP, CCP), preferred.
  • A combination of training, education and experience that is equivalent to the qualifications listed above and that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
