SALARY: Code Compliance Investigator III: $6,706 – 8,481 / Month
Code Compliance Investigator IV: $7,367 – 9,320 / Month

THE JOB: Under general supervision conduct field and desk investigations, field inspections, and analysis as necessary, in coordination with other staff and agencies, for the administration and enforcement of County building, zoning, cannabis registration and licensing ordinances, environmental ordinances, related regulations, laws and other ordinances governing land use; and perform other duties as required. The Code Compliance Investigator IV is the lead worker in the Code Compliance Investigator series and will, plan, organize, and coordinate the field activities of the Code Compliance Investigator staff, and perform the most difficult, sensitive or responsible investigations. The current vacancies are in the Cannabis Licensing Office and the Department of Community Development & Infrastructure Planning Division. The list established from this recruitment will be used to fill the current vacancies and it may also be used to fill other vacancies during the life of the eligible list.

THE REQUIREMENTS: Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain these knowledge and abilities would be:

Code Compliance Investigator III: Two years of code enforcement experience.

Code Compliance Investigator IV: One year of experience conducting complex code investigations requiring multi-department coordination such as high priority abatement cases and complex violations with health and safety, off-site and non-restorable impacts.
