Job Opening: Cluster Data Lead (Valley Cluster)

Reports To: SIS & Compliance Manager

Status: Full Time, non-exempt, 12 month role

Cluster Data Lead: The Cluster Data Lead serves as a leadership role in overseeing Bright Star Schools student information systems, compliance reporting and in leading ongoing conversations pertaining to data analysis and visualization, systems development and integrity at the cluster level.

Data Management and Analysis

· Ensure student data accuracy by implementing standardized processes around data entry and reporting of student information

· Leads the implementation work of student learning management systems including, data collection and account management (Reading Counts, Reading Inventory, etc).

· Gather dashboard and report requirements/features for the distribution of data to school staff and home office departments.

· Coordinates the development and production of BI reports (Google Data Studio, etc) to analyze and visualize student achievement and culture data.

· Provide cluster-wide training and lead PD sessions on data systems and analysis.

Cluster Team Lead

· Provides coaching to the cluster data coordinator to ensure successful completion of projects at the Cluster level, including maintaining project management and communication tools (Asana, Slack, etc.)

· Be the cluster’s point person for org-wide department leaders to discuss data, lead data analysis projects, and participate in regularly scheduled data check-ins with school leaders.

o Be aware of the cluster schools goals/priorities and be able to share that up to the manager/director

o Be aware of what data and tools are available and can provide training on how to use them (technically and how to apply them to their work)

Student Information Systems & Compliance

· Maintenance of student information systems including but not limited to enrollment, student scheduling, attendance, demographic information, health, staff, grades tables.

· Coordinating the master scheduling process including meeting with Principals/Counselors to build plans around course catalogs and student placement using data.

· Performs data attendance reviews prior to submission of LAUSD monthly attendance reports.

· Assist with the completion including the collection and maintenance of data necessary for quarterly/yearly district and state reports (CALPADS, CRDC, SARC, NSLP, etc).

· Assists with processing National School Lunch Program/income applications and verify data accuracy.

Assessment Support

· Provides data support for the administration of state and internal assessments (CAASPP, ELPAC, NWEA, iReady, etc).

· Investigate all incidents of test security and testing irregularity and escalate to the Deputy Superintendent and CDE as necessary

· Manage the assessment management systems including test administrations, user accounts, student test assignments, and designated supports/accommodations

· Support with staff training

· Monitor org-wide assessment completion rates and work with school administrators to ensure compliance with state accountability requirements

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree

2. One or more years of experience in education data management including experience with student information systems (Aeries SIS preferred)

3. Charter school experience, preferred

4. High proficiency with Microsoft and Google Productivity Suites

5. Experience with Business Intelligence Tools (Google Data Studio, Tableau, etc) preferred

6. Minimal travel to school sites for support and meetings may be expected
