The Cedar Point Sports Center is currently recruiting experienced coaches for the Millennium Volleyball Club (ages 10-18) for the season taking place January - April.

POSITION SUMMARY:

A Volleyball Club Coach will be a team member of the Millennium Volleyball Club staff and will be assigned an age group based on experience and skill level. Coaches must be prepared to commit to two practices/week and weekend tournaments. Coaches will be required to prepare practice plans, game day line-ups, communicate with parents and players.

Coaching at the Cedar Point Sports Center requires a demonstrated ability to motivate and direct young players. Applicants should be able to construct, articulate, and execute proper sessions and deliver curriculum in line with organizational philosophy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Teaching relevant skills, tactics, and techniques to a wide range of athletes, individuals and group
• Monitoring, evaluating, and enhancing athlete performance and needs.
• Providing suitable feedback via positivity, encouragement, example, and motivation
• Demonstrates an activity clearly by breaking down the task or technique into a sequence
• Demonstrates a friendly and courteous demeanor with athletes, parents, and Cedar Point Sports Center team members
• Identifying athlete strengths and areas for development
• Ensuring a safe environment for all athletes
• Implementing the curriculum in an accurate, creative, positive, and efficient fashion

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Playing and Coaching experience
• Coaching licenses (or active pursuit of) preferred
• Familiarity with contemporary coaching methodology
• Neat in appearance and professional in manner and communication
• Inspiring confidence and self-belief

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• At least 2 years of appropriate coaching/teaching sport in youth programs for athletes of various aptitudes
• Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills
• Must be a team player
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, predominately after-school and weekends
• Must possess current CPR/FIRST AID certifications, or willingness to obtain within a specified period (prior to start of the season)

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to move or lift lightweight equipment.
• Position requires standing and activity for extended periods of time (indoors or outdoors), squatting, stooping, jogging, or bending into awkward positions while performing job functions.
