Position Focus:

Yale University’s Sexual Harassment and Assault Response & Education (SHARE) Center is available to all members of the Yale community (undergraduate students, graduate/professional students as well as staff and faculty members and their dependents/spouses) who are dealing with sexual misconduct of any kind, including sexual assault, sexual harassment, stalking, intimate partner violence, and more. We assist individuals who are dealing with both current/recent and past experiences, as well as offer support to those who may experience something indirectly such as supporting friends, family or loved ones or witnessing something of concern. Additionally, we have resources for individuals who may have concerns about their own behavior.

SHARE provides crisis support, advocacy, and referral to on-going care for all members of the Yale community. We also offer on-going therapy and supportive counseling for students (undergraduate, graduate, and professional) focused on processing issues related to sexual misconduct. We offer a variety of groups, including Trauma-Informed Yoga for Survivors and a general survivor support group.

Reporting to the Director and Assistant Director, the SHARE Clinician will provide culturally competent, trauma-informed assistance and treatment to folks of varied racial/ethnic identities, nationalities, socioeconomic backgrounds, abilities and sexual/gender identities. They support in the operation of the Center by providing direct services to members of the University community impacted by sexual misconduct. These services include short-term trauma-focused therapy and supportive counseling related to sexual misconduct as well as advocacy, such as accompaniment to meetings with both Yale and community-based resources such as medical care, legal resources, and court hearings. They will be available for scheduled as well as same-day/drop-in appointments Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm with the possibility for one to two remote workdays per week. They will also participate in a rotating schedule for coverage of SHARE’s 24/7 on-call service.

The SHARE clinician will also develop and deliver outreach programs to historically marginalized and traditionally underserved populations on campus as well as facilitate educational programming related to Yale’s sexual misconduct prevention and response resources across the University community.

Successful candidates will be dedicated professionals who are stimulated by the idea of working with a unique and diverse patient population within an open and accepting medical center providing culturally sensitive, patient-centered care. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute, through their education and experience, to the diversity and excellence of the Yale community.
