Summary: Clinical staff are responsible for rooming of patients (vital signs, medication reconciliation, allergy verification), patient testing (flu, strep, covid as directed by provider), specimen preparation, and cleaning of patient care areas.
1. Perform vital signs (pulse, temperature, respirations, oxygen level, blood pressure)
2. Perform nasopharyngeal, nasal or oral swab procedure.
3. Preparation of specimen collection.
4. Put on (don) and remove (doff) personal protective equipment (PPE) per company protocol.
5. Maintain data in computer application.
6. Complete disinfection of patient areas per Infection Prevention protocols.
7. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education Minimum Required
- HS Diploma or GED, currently enrolled in nursing program
- Completion of an RN, LPN, EMT or RCP program
Special Skills Minimum Required
- Ethical understanding of patient processes, confidentiality, and personal health information (PHI) data management.
- Knowledge of infection control processes.
- Knowledge of specimen collection principles and practices.
- Skill in customer service
- Skill in attention to detail
- Skill in understanding patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general computer literacy and proficiency. EPIC exp preferred
Licensure and/or Certifications Required
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- NH RN, LPN, RCP, EMT or MA
