Position Summary

This position performs duties associated with the coordination and implementation of protocol specific tasks for the Pediatric Neuromuscle Research Team. The Clinical Research Coordinator II assists investigators in the execution of complex clinical research studies. This position will be responsible for managing multiple research studies simultaneously and acting as a liaison between the research site, the sponsoring agency, and the study participants. The Clinical Research Coordinator II has the opportunity to manage all phases of the research study.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Confers with PI to assist in developing plans for research projects and discuss the interpretation of results.
  • Routinely implements and manages all phases of study/protocol; ensures compliance with protocol guidelines and requirements of regulatory agencies; establishes record-keeping systems; makes assessments and determinations of participants’ progress in the study; analyzes, investigates and reports adverse events; makes decisions as when to notify physicians of issues, when to stop participant inclusion and/or to make and/or recommend adjustment of the protocol of particular participants; resolves IRB/protocol management issues and recommends corrective action as appropriate; serves as liaison with funding or sponsoring agency.
  • Assesses and documents research participant’s adherence to study guidelines.
  • Evaluates and interprets collected clinical data in conjunction with PI as appropriate.
  • Coordinates the development of forms, questionnaires and the application of research techniques.
  • Schedules all aspects of the research visit.
  • Communicates research visit timelines to patients and their families.
  • Administers questionnaires to participants and families.
  • Performs other duties incidental to the work described herein.

Preferred Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate would demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and problem solving abilities.
  • Three years of clinical research experience.
  • Working knowledge of techniques and methodologies used in developing, coordinating and managing clinical research projects with working knowledge of database management, spreadsheet and statistical analysis software.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of two years of clinical research experience; a combination of relevant work and education equaling six years may substitute for this requirement.

Salary Range

$50,600.00 - $75,800.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
