SUMMARY: Reporting directly to the QA/QI Director, the Clinical Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for supporting the clinical compliance of all SUOS public and private grants and programs with an emphasis on DBH contracts. Coordinates with QA/QI Director to improve and maintain compliance standards by funder requirements and revenue production.

REPORTS TO: QA/QI Director

HOURS: Full Time – 40 hours per week

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

SALARY: Based on Experience


DUTIES:
Primary duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Implements and performs clinical chart audits and progress note review at regular intervals and at random to ensure the treatment provided is consistent with the SUOS philosophy and meets the current standard for quality of care, medical necessity and other requirements as defined by each funder.

  • Overseeing and reviewing chart documentation including Progress Notes, Treatment Plans, and Assessments. Monitoring program specific documentation and providing support to staff and Program Managers to ensure compliance with DBH contract.
  • Participate in relevant San Bernardino County QA/QI meetings
  • Provide trainings on the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Program (Welligent) to new staff and/or staff that may need a refresher
  • Supports Program Managers oversight of the clinical and technical accuracy of the clinical records within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Program (Welligent). Provide ongoing support to Program Managers and service staff in navigation and ability to use Welligent software
  • Accepts special projects as assigned by the QA/QI Director.
  • Must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19


SKILLS:
Intermediate skill set and knowledge of Microsoft Office 365. This position requires the ability to identify problems, patterns, and make the required corrections as well as reporting information as required. This position requires excellent detail orientation and ability to multi-task on multiple ongoing and time sensitive projects/duties. Demonstrated and thorough knowledge of Housing First and Harm Reduction philosophies of service delivery. Demonstrated leadership of programs, organizations or teams, with multiple staff oversight. Initiative and problem-solving skills in community interface and human resources. Must demonstrate proactive communication skills and be a team player with a goal towards and mission of Step Up.

QUALIFICATIONS: Clinical license in the State of California (LMFT, LCSW) preferred and be in good standing with licensing board. Clinical degree (Ph.D, Psy.D, MSW, MFT) from an accredited program. Knowledge of and expertise in clinical quality assurance, clinical charting methods and clinical best practices. At least 2 years’ experience providing mental health/social rehabilitation to adults with severe and persistent mental illness or similar populations under similar government funding requirements. Must be flexible, detailed oriented, and willing to take on special projects. Valid California Driver’s License and Car Insurance. Driving between office locations may be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, balance, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch. (The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Keyboard data entry required.
