Job Summary and Qualifications

Under indirect or direct supervision, compounds, dispenses, and distributes pharmaceutical products in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Confers with and assists medical professionals to provide cost-effective and high quality care to hospital patients. Provide medication information and consultation on pharmacokinetics, dose adjustments, orders laboratory tests, medication monitoring according to established policies and procedures. Perform other duties as required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

One year hospital or equivalent experience required. Residency preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Current and valid license as a registered pharmacist in the state of California.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Communication – communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and other hospital personnel

PC Skills – demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office, Meditech, and purchasing vendor applications and others as required

Basic Skills – able to perform mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures, punctuate properly, spell correctly and transcribe accurately
