Position Details

Position Description

The University of Washington’s Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, is seeking applicants for two full-time (0.5 to 1.0 FTE) faculty positions to be based at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) - Roosevelt General Internal Medicine Center (GIMC) and/or Women’s Health Care Center (WHCC). These positions will be at the Clinical Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, or Clinical Associate Professor level. This position will involve serving as a primary care provider at GIMC and/or WHCC, and teaching and precepting residents and students, with optional inpatient attending of two to four weeks per year at UWMC-Montlake.

Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Clinical faculty hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The earliest start date would be October 1, 2023.

Salary

The base salary range for this position will be: $16,500 - $18,334 per month ($198,000 - $220,008 annually) for the Instructor rank, $18,417 - $19,584 per month ($221,004 - $235,008 annually) for the Assistant Professor rank, or $19,667 - $20,834 per month ($236,004 - $250,008 annually) for the Associate Professor rank, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Qualifications

Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and board certification* in Internal Medicine (or foreign equivalent). In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S,) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

  • Note: Board certification in Internal Medicine must be completed within two years after residency.
