Summary

Assists in providing efficient Dispute Resolution and Domestic Relations services, including file maintenance, supervising visits, customer service, monitoring compliance of agreements, and other administrative office support duties. Requires good communication skills, experience with office-related computer software, and the ability to interact with the public.

Essential Duties

  • Makes and receives phone calls as needed.
  • Logs new ADR referrals and orders on a daily basis.
  • Makes files for new ADR referrals on a daily basis.
  • Inputs data for the generation of reports, letters, and orders
  • Assists with docket check-in and greeting guests at the front desk.
  • Monitors compliance of mediation agreements.
  • Generates status reports for court, as needed.
  • Supervises visits, as needed, and completes corresponding reports.
  • Completes annual mediator continuing education requirements.
  • Mediates when necessary.
  • Responds to questions from disputants/attorneys/courts and agencies.
  • May be assigned specific duties or specific types of cases.
  • Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with proficiency and minimum supervision. Good communication skills, organization skills, ability to interact with the public, and ability to prioritize are required. Texas motor vehicle operator’s license and automobile insurance or available alternate means of transportation in the relevant service area are required. Must not have been convicted of a Crime of Moral Turpitude.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Prefer knowledge of ADR procedures and the civil and criminal justice systems; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; outstanding grammar and vocabulary; knowledge of standard office practices and procedures; ability to operate office equipment; proficient in a variety of computer software programs; knowledge of issues and purposes of ADR; knowledge of Code of Ethics for Neutrals and Code of Conduct for Court Personnel; organizational and multi-tasking skills; energetic, independent and a self-motivated team player; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, other offices and employers, and the public; follow oral and written instruction.
