An exciting opportunity at Mott MacDonald waits for a civil CADD designer in Atlanta, GA. This person will work alongside other talented individuals to support project teams throughout North America on proposals, planning, startup, and delivery tasks. The project delivery support ensures the best tools and systems framework are configured and deployed based on project requirements and company goals for innovation.

- Regionally significant – Rome-Cartersville Development Corridor – Project includes 13 bridges, a new interchange on I-75, and 5 turbo roundabouts.
- Design-Build projects of different delivery methods.
- GDOT’s bridge replacement program
- Gwinnett ON-Call – widenings and intersections
- Collaborate with engineers and the design team to advance and complete a variety of project types.
- Develop grading plans, alignments, profiles, cross sections, paving layouts, striping layouts, traffic control plans, erosion control plans, and pipe networks.
- Produce preliminary and final drawings in accordance with company and client standards.
- Calculate quantities for earthwork, asphalt, concrete, drainage structures, pipe, etc.
- Produce spreadsheets that summarize quantities and estimated unit costs.
Candidate Specification
We invite candidates to apply with the following experience:

- Minimum 5 years of experience as a civil designer.
- High school graduate.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
- Understanding of developing and supporting civil engineering drawings.
- Experience with file conversion between multiple digital environments.
- Strong verbal communication and time management skills.
- Technical degree in CADD drafting a plus.
- Experience with Civil 3D, InRoads, and OpenRoads.
- Previous experience training other designers.
- Familiar with GDOT standards.
- Experience in various infrastructure project types: Earthwork, Drainage, Highways/Road Design, Rail, Tunnels, Water and Waste Water Treatment, Pipelines, etc.
- Experience using Data Management Systems: Bentley, ProjectWise, MS SharePoint, Autodesk.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and prioritize tasks in a logical order.
