SEH is currently searching for a talented and enthusiastic Civil Engineer to join our Airport Planning and Design team! This position will be a combination of CAD Design work on APD projects as well as field construction observation as needed.

As a Civil Engineer on our Airport Planning and Design team, you will:

  • Complete detailed design of airport infrastructure projects, including runways, taxiways, aprons, buildings, and utilities
  • Draft and design project plan sheets using AutoCAD and Civil3D software
  • Prepare construction documents, including plans and specifications
  • Assist with project estimation and budgeting
  • Engage in construction observation and field engineering for various construction projects at airports across the Midwest
  • Assist Professional Engineers/Project Managers in project scoping, task hour budgets, schedules, fee proposals and federal and state grant application and management
  • Manage work activities and project team responsibilities, and provide status updates for assigned projects
  • Develop an understanding of the latest airport design standards and procedures
  • Work effectively in an empowered team environment with individual responsibility

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Graduating in May 2023 and have previous internship experience in Civil Engineering with AutoCAD (2D or 3D) and/or construction observation OR 1-3 years of experience as a graduate level civil engineer working in design with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections, etc. Overnight travel may be required.
  • Must reside in the state of Wisconsin or willing to relocate

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience and working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Previous airport planning, design, and construction experience
