The Diocese of Fort Worth, Texas includes 91 Parishes, and 19 schools. It stretches from Quanah, Texas just northwest of Wichita Falls in the West and extends to Penelope, Texas in the Southeast. Its largest metropolitan areas are Fort Worth, Arlington, Denton, and Wichita Falls. The principal duty of all employees is to assist in the mission of the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth, Texas.


General Position Summary:
This person must be able to effectively plan and carry out a daily program designed to meet the physical and developmental needs of a group of children. This individual must be sensitive to the needs of individual children and relate well to both children and adults. It is important that this individual be a positive role model for children and aspire to assist children and families daily.


Principal Accountabilities:
  • Implement and oversee that all health and safety guidelines per the Health Department and Licensing are followed (sanitize toys and disinfect surfaces such as table, chairs, shelves and counter-tops). Follow all employee/child hand-washing procedures.
  • Supervise Children at all times. Supervision includes awareness of and responsibility for the ongoing activity of each child. Teachers will supervise children at all times.
  • Interact and communicate with children in a respectful manner to which they can understand. When communicating with children you need to get down on their level and take time to listen to them.
  • Demonstrate physical, emotional, and intellectual competencies necessary to demonstrate good judgement when performing assigned responsibilities.
  • Planning and implementing activities that offer each child opportunities for physical and social development.
  • Communicate with families by completing daily notes, journals, emails, and conferences.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings so you can obtain training hours that are required annually.

Education and Experience Preferred:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working in an Early Childcare Center
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
  • English (proficient in conversing, reading, and writing)
  • Active member of Roman Catholic parish community
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
This position involves working in a classroom and interacting with young children. It involves planning and implementing daily activities, communicating with families and be flexibility.
