SCHOOL NUTRITION WAREHOUSE COORDINATOR

GENERAL STATEMENT OF WORK

Under direct supervision of the School Nutrition Director, perform warehousing, light maintenance and preventative maintenance functions. Work involves inventory management, receiving and delivery tasks in school food service facilities. Work requires lifting and moving equipment, food and supplies where needed. Work involves inventory of supplies, maintaining inventories and completing assigned paperwork and reports.


SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs kitchen maintenance such as cleaning or changing filters or light bulbs, sharpening knives, lubricating parts, repairing can openers, replacing wheels and gaskets, hanging racks or bulletin boards, caulking, doing touch-up paint or painting equipment; performs other School Nutrition Services facility tasks as needed.

Reviews repair requests, exercises considerable judgment in determining materials and corrective action needed and plans work schedules to complete tasks; forwards repair requests that require additional expertise or manpower to supervisor.

Assists School Nutrition Director in developing School Nutrition Services preventative maintenance plans; performs assigned preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled.

Monitor temperatures of central warehouse refrigeration equipment, reporting any equipment malfunction to maintenance for work order/repair.

Responsible for receiving inventory of foods and/or supplies. Checks all deliveries accurately and inspects for damage, defects and temperature violations. Verify accuracy of shipment by counting items and comparing with invoice or packing slip; report discrepancies or damage to School Nutrition Director.

Responsible for storage and organization of items in an orderly manner always using the First In, First out principle. Rotating stock as needed to ensure FI/FO is practiced.

Conduct monthly physical inventory and maintain an accurate running perpetual inventory on warehouse items.

Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, hand tools in loading and unloading items from trucks, while picking, preparing orders for shipment and stock shelves.

Perform duties related to inventory control, receiving distribution and issuing of stock and non-stock

Perform maintenance/housekeeping/janitorial/cleaning to warehouse, building and grounds to maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Be familiar with the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) Plan. Assist School Nutrition Director in the implementation of HACCP procedures and inspection protocol for Central Warehouse as needed. Responsible for HACCP weekly and monthly inspections and paperwork completion.

Inspect school nutrition facilities for pest control issues. Practice Integrated Pest Management to prevent pest infestation issues.

Perform special projects and deliveries as assigned.


ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Employee may be on call outside normal work hours if an emergency requires site reviews, the repair of equipment or facilities, the transfer or disposal of food or supplies, food recalls or other tasks.


Lifts, carries, and moves equipment, food and supplies as required. Performs other assigned tasks or related work as required.


Employee may be required to fill in at cafeteria sites when needed.


Employee may be required to to transport and distribute student meals to satellite sites.


MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Graduation from high school with a minimum of two years of experience in food service equipment maintenance and repair; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and capability in the areas of light maintenance and warehouse operations.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina.

Forklift license or the ability to obtain.

Preference will be given for Pesticide applicator license/Structural.

Ability to systematically determine the source of problems and to take appropriate action.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
