Overview:

Responsible for providing a warm, safe, and nurturing learning experience for the children at the childcare center while communicating the goals, guidelines, and standards of the center. All team members are required to comply, maintain, and enforce the rules and regulations of the North Carolina Division of Child Development as well as all Health Department sanitation requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Education: High School or GED, Required. NC Credentials or equivalency plus 12 semester hours, Required.
  • Experience Required: 1 year early childhood work experience with children up to 12 years of age, Required.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration Required:
    • NC Credentials or equivalency defined by regulatory compliance Division of Child Development Workforce Unit, Required.
    • CDL license (if hired for driving buses) and working with school age children.
    • CPR/First Aid within 2 months of hireequireed. SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) within 2 months of hire, Required.
  • Additional Skills Required:
    • NC Division of Child Development Qualifying Letter/Criminal Background Check, renewed every 5 years.
    • BSAC if working with school age children.
    • CPR/First Aid completion within 2 months of hire.
    • ITS SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome training) for teachers work in the classroom infants up to 2 years of age within 2 months of hire.
    • CDL license (if hired for driving buses) and working with school age children.
  • Additional Skills Preferred:
    • BSAC for school age children if working with school age children.
    • Playground safety training.
