Examples of Duties

Under direction, ensures that quality standards are maintained in the Department of Health and Human Services. Provides oversight and direction to various initiatives and enhancements within the agency to support the accreditation process for both the Departments of Health and Social Services. Ensures programs support the agency's introduction and improvement of a myriad of operational and programmatic initiatives; directs and participates in the overall administration of the Quality Improvement Office.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES


  • Manages a variety of projects in the Departments of Health and Social Services.
  • Oversees and manages the accreditation process, and provides advice and guidance to managers regarding programmatic and accreditation activities.
  • Provides oversight and direction to managers to meet standards and strategic planning goals.
  • Consults with management on agency risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Communicates guidelines, laws and regulations related to quality indicators.
  • Collects and analyzes data, makes program recommendations, and insures that agency programs meet accreditation objectives.
  • Prepares reports for audits and for accreditation purposes.
  • Organizes and participates in coalitions and partnerships.
  • Oversees student internship program.
  • Oversees the work of subordinate professional and other staff.

Qualifications

Possession of a Master's degree in the field of public health, nursing, medicine, education, or a related field from an accredited college or university.,

PLUS

Eight years' progressively responsible experience as a manager or program director in a public health field.

Applicants are required to submit proof of licenses, certifications and education beyond high school to meet the required and preferred qualifications of the position. Diplomas or transcripts must show the applicant's major field of study. Copies and unofficial transcripts are acceptable.

Salary

Annual Salary review - Step increases may be granted on anniversary date based on satisfactory job performance
General Increases - Cost of living increases and adjustments may be granted as legislated.
Longevity Increases - In accordance with the specific pay schedule, a full-time merit or classified employee may receive a longevity increase, equivalent to one step, upon completion of a certain number of years of classified service with the County.
