Chemistry Lab Technician
Responsibilities

This position requires a solid work ethic and the ability and willingness to learn in a fast paced environment.

This position has the following specific responsibilities:

· Analyze tanks and cleaners

· Make additions to tanks as necessary

· Perform Hull Cell Tests and communicate analysis

· Understand and maintain water treatment regulations and requirements

· Maintain organized documentation of testing results

· Keep inventory of chemicals, metals, etc.

· Work with office staff to purchase chemicals, metal, etc. as necessary

· Notify supervisor of any abnormal or unusual conditions

· Perform other duties as necessary

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Employee is required to bend, climb and twist. Usage of hands to grasp and manipulate objects, tools or controls is required. This position requires squatting, pushing, pulling, walking, standing and sitting. The ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds is necessary.

The ambient conditions of the manufacturing, waste water and lab area are moderate and noise levels are moderate. Working in this environment includes dust, fumes, cold, heat and humidity from the plating and chemical solutions. Required to wear appropriate PPE when on the plant floor, in waste water treatment and in the laboratory.

Minimum Qualifications

This position must have a high school diploma or three years experience in a chemical or environmental laboratory or related industry. This position requires strong organizational skills and a background in math and chemistry.

Reports to General Manager of Waterbury Plating

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
