DESCRIPTION
  • This position has the primary responsibility of supporting the technical development and application of solutions for the EOR Technical Service Team.
  • The position is in an oilfield laboratory primarily working with surfactants, polymers, and crude oil.
  • Duties include,but are not limited to solution preparation, sample testing, laboratory equipment operation, results collection, and assisting with maintaining the overall functionality of the laboratory.
    • Must have a strong work ethic, self-motivation, and safety mindset.
    • Must be able to work comfortably both in a team environment and on individual efforts effectively.
    • Must have good basic computer skills and be comfortable with email, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
    • Must have the highest standards of integrity and accuracy with attention to detail.
    • Must be flexible and capable of adapting to changes in priority based on project needs.
    • Must possess good oral and written communication skills.



Requirements:
  • Proficiency in general laboratory techniques and familiarity with basic laboratory instrumentation (e.g., balances, ovens, pH meters, etc.) is required.
  • Experience with polymer testing equipment (e.g., mixers, viscometers, and rheometers) is desired.
  • Experience in technical documentation required.
  • Ability to interpret documents such as safe operating procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and safety data sheets is required.
  • Basic knowledge of chemical compatibility is required.
  • Basic knowledge of surfactants and polymer chemistries is desired.
  • Basic knowledge of chemical handling and chemical storage is required.
  • College-level understanding of chemistry, physics, and engineering is required.
  • Attention to detail and sensitivity to timelines is a must.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and spatial reasoning is desired.
  • Proactivity in self-regulated task
    management.
  • Qualified individual will be capable of full shifts of laboratory activity, full days of desk work and combinations of both.

EDUCATION:
  • Associates or BS in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific field required, bachelor's degree preferred. 2+ years of laboratory experience with associate degree or 0+ years of laboratory experience with bachelor's degree.
