Sodexo Education is seeking a Chef Manager to help lead the food and nutrition program for Dorchester District 2 in Summerville , SC.

The Chef Manager will have a two year culinary degree or comparable experience with menu development and execution to staff of 2 -12. Volume experience a plus. Unit manager responsibilities and all catering are direct responsibilities. Word, Excel, people skills, coaching and teaching 150 +/- staff and communication a must for success. This is an exciting opportunity for a Chef Manager to spearhead purchasing and food production within our operations. On and off site caterings may include the operation of a "state of the art" food truck. A valid driver's license is required.

The successful candidate will:
  • be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting;
  • ensure Sodexo and USDA Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented;
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations;
  • ability to create culinary promotions to further increase student meal purchases;
  • ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance; and/or
  • have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems.
