Ida Lewis Yacht Club in Newport, RI is looking for a Chef to join our team for the Summer 2023 Season. We are located on 170 Wellington Ave. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, and hard-working. Compensation commensurate with experience and ability.
Responsibilities
Ordering and inventory management

*Oversee food safety handling and sanitation practices for galley staff *Plan and delegate food preparation and cooking tasks to the galley team *Train and develop cooks as needed
Qualifications
-
*Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills *Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate the team *Relevant food safety and handling certificate *Experience as a chef is a plus
Schedule

*IMPORTANT - This is a seasonal position. Galley operations run full time
End of May through Mid-September, with occasional special events in May and October. *The weekly schedule is as follows: Tuesday Family Grill Night, Wednesday Racing Grill Night, Friday Adult Grill Night, Saturday Grill Night, Sunday Brunch. Mondays and Thursdays are typically off.
