This is an exciting time to join the Asda Community & Charity Partnerships team. This year we have relaunched our strategy and this role will lead the new strategic pillar Better Starts, which focuses on helping young people reach their full potential. We have three primary focuses to Better Starts; removing hunger as a barrier to learning, promoting diversity so children feel seen and heard and boosting wellbeing through participation and connection.

The role will lead all aspects of the Better Starts community activity through creation and delivery of a 5 year impact roadmap aligned with Asda's overall community ESG targets and social impact deliverables.

You will directly line manage two colleagues and be the key point of contact both internally with stakeholders and externally with our charity partners and you will lead the strategic integration and strategy of all associated charity activities.

The day to day of this role is exciting and varied and will include; creating new ways to engage with commercial business areas, signing off marketing briefs and communications, manage and forecast fundraising targets, carrying out stakeholder mapping, report progress against key milestones & achievements, managing the programme budget and managing all partnership activities to ensure that they are legal and compliant.

About You:

• Previous experience leading corporate charity partnerships and/or community programmes
• Strategic mindset with experience in strategy development
• Line management experience
• Proven ability to grow and sustain fundraising campaigns
• Cross-functional working and stakeholder engagement skills
• Commercial acumen with experience in managing project budgets
• Experience of business planning, business development and project management
• High standard of verbal and written communication
• Ability to persuade, influence and collaborate both face-to-face and in writing
• Expertise in social impact measuring – e.g. B4SI
• Knowledge of charity law
• Understanding of marketing processes and compelling briefs
