• Graduated from an accredited nursing school and holds a current and valid license in the appropriate State.
• Minimum or 1 year of supervisory experience in either a long-term care or healthcare setting.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English Language.

Essential Functions:

• Assures resident care is delivered in accordance with accepted standards of practice.
• Observes, assesses and reports resident conditions/changes and then documents in accordance with Festus Manor's Policy and State/Federal guidelines and regulations.
• Administers medication/treatments as prescribed.
• Receive, transcribe and execute physicians' orders.
• Implements and evaluates a resident's care plan.
• Identifies and secures equipment and supplies.
• Directs, monitors, and coordinates the timely delivery of quality resident care by all subordinate staff.
• Assures that each resident's accident or incident is fully documented and reported in accordance with Festus Manor's Policy and state/federal guidelines and regulations.
• Assures that each resident's attending physician and family or responsible party is promptly notified of any significant change in the resident's health condition.
• Assists in the evaluation of subordinate staff and any necessary counsel/discipline in accordance with Festus Manor Policies.
• Ensures a safe environment is maintained in accordance with Festus Manor's Disaster and OSHA Manual and all local, State, and Federal guidelines and regulations.
• Ability to function as a Team Leader/Role Model.
• Has reviewed L. Festus Manor Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employee's responsibility to enforce it.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Continuing Education:

• Attends in-service and educational programs.
• Attends continuing education required for maintenance of professional certification or licensure.

• Ability to communicate in English via phone, in writing, and verbally in conversation with different levels of staff, patient families, and any outside customers.
