Job Summary and Qualifications

SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for clinical management of the patient according to the Occupational Therapist’s Evaluation.

2. Assures satisfaction of customers (patients, visitors, physicians and staff), upholding ICARE values

3. Participates and understands Quality Management activities.

4. Demonstrates effective communication skills.

5. Demonstrates understanding of hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

6. Promotes cost effective unit operations.

7. Documents care utilizing the appropriate tools.

8 Maintains competencies in clinical areas and is responsible for professional growth and development.

9. Complies with professional, regulatory, governmental and departmental standards.

10. Supervises students, (optional)

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Graduate of an Occupational Therapist Assistant Program approved by the AOTA- Degree in Associates of Applied Science; AHA BLS Healthcare Provider CPR

LICENSURE: COTA (Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant) Licensed in the State of Virginia

EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in an acute care facility preferred; new graduates considered

What qualifications you will need:

• 
  Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Bachelors Degree
