JOB DESCRIPTION:

A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the direction of an Occupational Therapist to conduct treatment procedures which aim to improve a patient’s day-to-day functioning despite impairment or limited mobility. This position is also responsible for preparing equipment for treatment and occasional clerical duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• New York State Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure
• COVID-19 Vaccination
• Physical strength to lift between 50-100lbs
• Ability to read and understand work assignments, as well as report verbally and provide written documentation as necessary
• Respect for residents’ privacy and rights; display of genuine concern and empathy for the elderly
• Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness and kindness
• Qualities of responsibility, maturity, diplomacy and ability to work well with residents and other staff members

REQUIREMENTS:

• Timely in providing care, assessment skills, compassion, people skills
• Enthusiastic (shows intense and eager enjoyment and interest), team player, dedicated (devoted to a talk or purpose with loyalty or integrity), loyal (shows firm and constant support to a cause)
• COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant)
