Care Partner (Certified Nursing Assistant) Pines Edge, Part-Time
For over 30 years, North Hill, a not-for-profit senior living community located in Needham, Massachusetts, has provided vibrant living opportunities to people 65+ by offering a host of hospitality, wellness and health care services. Pines Edge is looking for a Care Partners (CNA) to provide direct care to Residents as delegated by licensed nurses and consistent with the Resident Care plan.

SHIFTS AVAILABLE: 7am-3pm Part-Time
STAFFING RATIO: 1:5

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Partners with residents to provide resident centered care including ADL’s, bathing, dressing, grooming, nail care, shaving, and bowel and bladder functions.
  • Assist in transporting residents to/from appointments, activity and social programs
  • Shows respect for all customers at all times and complies with all policies that relate to their privacy
  • Assist with transferring as directed by care plan.
  • Encourage and support people in the home to achieve maximum mobility.
  • Respond to resident requests for support and uses communication systems appropriately
  • Partner with and guide residents/people within the home to ensure their leisure preferences are met.
  • Leads and participates in small group activities
  • Report all changes in resident condition to the nurse and completes necessary documentation in a timely manner.
  • Advocate for and understands resident personal preferences and provides support/care in a manner that respects resident rights, choices, confidentiality, privacy and protects them from abuse.
  • Appropriately communicates to the Supervisor any complaints or grievances.
  • Develop and demonstrate skill in relationship building, supporting the socialization and interaction of/with the residents.
  • Lead or participate in household team meetings to enhance communication
  • Demonstrates the Team Member’s role as an ambassador for North Hill at all times in all situations and manages behavior accordingly.
  • Take initiative to enhance the Residents experience at all opportunities
  • Complete necessary documentation for ancillary services and supplies to ensure tracking and correct billing can occur.
  • Attend and actively participate in departmental and non departmental team meetings
  • Respond to resident emergencies appropriately
  • Takes responsibility for using North Hill communications to stay informed about the community and Team Member-related events, benefits and services.
  • Exhibits a willingness to learn about technology and to use as appropriate in support of North Hill’s mission and goals.
  • Utilize electronic documentation appropriately.
  • Assume Coordinator responsibilities within the household on a rotating basis.
  • Prepare, cook, serve and complete after meal clean-up for resident meals.
  • Pay attention to and follow an appropriate plan for resident preferences, food allergies , diet and texture restrictions.
  • Participate in the dining experience with the people who reside in the home.
  • Maintain kitchen in a safe and sanitary manner.
  • Provide support with light housekeeping and laundry as assigned or as needed. Ensures Resident rooms are well maintained following appropriate checklists. This includes but is not limited to episodic cleaning, linen change, vacuuming and sweeping.
  • Complete checklists and logs as required by law and policy of North Hill.
  • Recommend to the Director any needs of the household to enhance or add services.
  • Report hazardous conditions, equipment and accidents/ incidents to the supervisor on the shift they occur

EXPERIENCE:
  • The ideal candidate will have approximately 2+ years of experience as a CNA or Home Health Aide in long term care setting.
  • 8 hours of Dementia Care training required.
  • Serve Safe Certification a plus

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalency (GED).
