The Pre-Op/PACU manager has oversite of the following departments: Pre-Op, PACU and PAT (Pre-Admission Testing). The following is a list of job duties.
- Actively involved in maintaining unit budget and cost reduction to include accountability for overtime.
- Monitors the facility’s physical environment and initiates methods for maintaining safety, comfort, cleanliness, and orderliness.
- Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
- Works closely with the OR Manager to ensure seamless transitions of care for patients.
- Participates in committees, conferences, Quality Improvement and Risk Management.
- Organizes orientation and staff development programs to meet identified learning needs.
- Reviews and monitors activities related to Infection Control Program.
- Reports observed or suspected safety violations, hazards and non-compliance to the Safety Officer and other designated person.
- Responds to emergency situations with competence and composure.
- Prepares daily personnel assignments and delegates duties according to experience and skill level. When needed rotates into the staffing numbers to ensure safe patient care.
- Oversees all nursing activities during an emergency to verify that patient needs are met.
- Has general understanding of AAAHC accreditation standards, maintains compliance and is an active participant in preparation for inspection.
- Other duties as assigned by the administrator or Director of Nursing.
Current Licensure in the State- Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support Course.
- CNOR preferred
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing and/or BSN, Master's degree in Nursing/Management preferred.
