POSITION TITLE: Catering Sales Manager

DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Director of Events

RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Will handle all leads for events taking place within 90 days and complete through execution of event
  • This position will be 95% Corporate Events, Boston Venues only
  • Respond to client questions, within 24 hours
  • Create accurate BEOs per Longwood Standards; to ensure a successful event

· Generate accurate Invoices for all items procured; fully understand taxes and taxable items.

  • Collect/Record all client payments, to a zero balance 14 days prior to start date

· Create accurate Floor plans using Event Management Software

· Guide client on best operational flow of the event and Longwood service standards

  • Attend BEO Meetings with accurate and updated information, ready to answer questions
  • Handling an average 80-100 events annually, actualizing to around 3 MM in revenues
  • Prepare and be present for tastings, drop off, rehearsals, and all preplanning appointments onsite
  • Be present day of the event to ensure clients expectations are met
  • Knowledge of corporate is required
  • Knowledge in social, non-profit, and wedding events is preferred

· Possess knowledge of food, beverage, and event décor trends

· Review and possess knowledge of all Companywide SOP

Leads

  • Longwood provides leads through the website; average of 30 per week (reduced by volume of leads within 90 days)
  • Handling inquires according to all Longwood Standards (SOPs)- Response time, Intros, Accurate usage of software systems
  • Greeting all business opportunities with enthusiasm and drive to sell
  • Exemplify excellent negotiating skills to strategically contract event minimum and site fee to maximize revenues
  • Thoroughly understand value of our products and services- F&B Menus, AV List, Site fees, Ceremony fee & In-house equipment
  • Create timely and accurate proposals for the client; listen to their needs and balance with our availability
  • Build long lasting business relationships with key accounts, clients, and planners to gain direct repeat business
  • Understand core market segments

Tours

  • Schedule tours of the venue that are convenient for the clients and not during another event
  • Maintain professional appearance and arrival to conduct venue tours
  • Conducting venue tours for prospective clients follow all Longwood touring standards to showcase the venues
  • Knowledgeable on competitive set - Features, Pricing and Offering vs ours, we do not speak negatively.

Contracts and Proposals

  • Create proposals based on clients’ needs and balanced with Longwood standards on successful events.
  • Create, sign, and send Contracts on Longwood’s behalf; Sales Managers are authorized to sign their own contracts.
  • As an authorized signer, understanding every section; including terms and conditions and contractual clauses is essential.
  • Reviewing contract clauses and questions with clients; addressing any requested contract changes.
  • Familiarity with each market segment and the potential contractual concerns.
  • Maintain accurate client information and bookings through Longwood Standard software programs

Goals

  • Reaching and exceeding monthly/quarterly/annual sales revenue goals

Eligible for annual ES discretionary bonus plan

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
