The position of Category Specialist will be Remote!

Summary

The Category Specialist is responsible for supporting national supplier programs and maybe be the key contact for assigned national suppliers. Will support and assist Category Managers with vendor planning through national supplier tier strategy implementation and maintenance.


What You’ll Do

  • Product Management and support for assigned national suppliers. Responsible for driving best practices and a consistent strategy
  • Develop plans and actions with Category Manager through Regional engagements and action planning with leadership. Aid in content preparation and accountability in driving completion of action plans
  • Identify, communicate, and track areas of improvement and operational efficiencies related to doing business with assigned national suppliers
  • Promotional and merchandising engagement with Marketing and Branch Managers
  • Be fully engaged and responsible for the success of national promotion programs. Responsible for metrics reporting as required
  • Early engagement in New Product Introduction and throughout the lifecycle of the launch
  • Actively promote products through participation at national and local trade shows, customer seminars and other distributor promotions
  • Act as an internal resource as a “Subject Matter Expert” on assigned national supplier digital tools
  • Support Category Managers in driving transformative digital integration (within ERP, eCommerce, Data Management, etc.)
  • Develop and implement strategies to attack competition and increase market penetration using marketing tools
  • Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

  • High School or GED required
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in Engineering or related preferred
  • 2+ years of sales, operations, or related experience
  • Experience within the electrical distribution or manufacturing industry preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and support a distributor organization to proactively implement the business plan
  • Strong presentation skills in a group and individual situations
  • Ability to promote the value-add of the assigned products and Rexel value proposition to customers
  • Strong arbitration skills to effectively listen, communicate, and gain consensus
  • Willingness and desire to participate in ongoing training to maintain technical and marketing competency
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers to aid in satisfying customer requirements
  • Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements
