Position Summary:

As a Carrier Sales Representative for Pyle, you will develop skills for relationship management, negotiation, communication, and teamwork. These skills will be used to manage a portfolio of carriers to service shipper needs. Within a year, you will provide your carriers with millions of dollars in revenue in exchange for safely delivering our shipper’s products.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and managing a portfolio of Truckload carriers who embody a service first approach
  • Working with carriers to add additional capacity to the A. Duie Pyle network
  • Negotiating market level pricing with your carriers
  • Selecting carriers for shipments who can deliver safely, on-time, and damage free
  • Monitoring the service performance of your portfolio and taking corrective action when needed
  • Building multi-level relationships with dispatchers, owner operators, and executives
  • Identifying, prospecting, and onboarding new carriers to the A. Duie Pyle network
  • Ensuring timely pickup, tracking, delivery, documentation and invoicing occurs with your carriers
  • Identifying, articulating, and internally distributing information about changing market trends, in particular those related to capacity and pricing fluctuations
  • Collaborating with claims and customer sales representatives during exception management

To be qualified for this position, you must possess the following:

  • Minimum of one year of experience at a Shipper, Carrier (TL) or 3PL
    • Please note that the Pyle Brokerage division has multiple tiers of Carrier Sales Representatives based on experience, including a fast track role (Level I) where we will provide the training and development needed for success.
  • Demonstrated positive attitude; team first mindset
  • Must be growth oriented, motivated, and have a sense of urgency
  • Understanding of DAT, other load boards, or additional pricing technologies
  • Ability to cover 200+ shipments per month
  • Basic understanding of how lanes fluctuate based on seasonality and external events
  • Strong communication skills; proficiency in MS Office

The following skillsets are preferred, but not required:

  • Fluency in a foreign language
  • Bachelor’s Degree
