Position Description
This position is a part-time position in the Health Care Technology Department. The teaching assignment requires in-person instruction.

Job Duties
1. Teach in-person Cardiovascular Technology ( ECG ) courses, cardiac ultrasound, Physics of Ultrasound and Cardiac Congenital Ultrasound in the classroom, lab, and/or clinical setting.

2. Perform responsibilities related to program coordination and advisory including: program accreditation, coordinator of clinical placements, advisory board meetings, grant proposals for program funding, annual program assessment/review, and coordination of part-time instructors.

3. Teach in-person day, evening, classes or clinical labs at one or more sites as required.

4. Participate in departmental duties including, but not limited to, curriculum development, selection of appropriate instruction material, and revisions of
testing material.

5. Assist in student recruitment, enrollment, and clinical placements.

6. Perform duties associated with instructing students and assessing their progress in relation to identified student learning outcomes.

7. Participate in assessment necessary for program evaluation and revision.

8. Maintain departmental policies in the classroom and maintain accreditation standards.

9. Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with professional training sites.

10. Participate in other college-wide and departmental functions, such as committees, workshops, staff meetings, and faculty evaluations.

11. Supports an innovative culture of culturally responsive, inclusive and anti-racist practices as it relates to student success with an awareness of student equity gaps.

12. Participates in ongoing training on diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism to center pedagogy.

13. Perform other related duties as assigned by the program chair.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with community college students with disabilities, various sexual orientations, and diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds (Required).

2. Earned Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent foreign degree, plus two years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member’s assignment; OR THE EQUIVALENT ;
OR
Earned Associate Degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent foreign degree, plus six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member’s assignment; OR THE EQUIVALENT ;
OR
Hold a fully-satisfied LIFE California Community College Instructor Credential in Health and Physical Care Services and Related Technologies (California credentials were no longer issued after July 1, 1990).

Desirable Qualifications
1. Complete the cohort program length of 15 months or two years.

2. Completion of an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound Program.

3. Experience as a cardiac sonographer with five years of experience in cardiac ultrasound.

4. Demonstrated knowledge of and teaching experience in cardiac ultrasound and electrocardiography.

5. Demonstrated knowledge of teaching/precepting ultrasound students in the hospital-based or clinical setting.

6. Demonstrated ability to perform cardiac ultrasound examinations.

7. Evidence of successful leadership experience at the university or college level using culturally responsive pedagogy that leads to equitable outcomes for all students.

8. Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of inequities in higher education and a commitment to rectifying policies and processes that restrict access for historically minoritized and disproportionately impacted students.
