Great Escape Camp Counselor Job Description

Goal: To be a leader of summer activities for school-aged children, which encourages the Great Escape goals of spiritual growth, peer relationship building, physical activity, and creative development.

Job Requirements:

1. Personalbe, with an ability to develop relationships with children.

2. Ability to be a leader of children.

3. Currently hold or be willing to attain CPR certification.

4. Have a valid driver’s license.

5. Have completed one year of college by the start of camp or have previous experience
leading children (volunteer or paid).

Responsibilities:

1. Lead daily activities, games, sports, projects, and outings, as a part of a leadership team.

2. Establish personal relationships with the Great Escape participants, particularly with
children needing extra support, while being an adult leader.

3. Provide spiritual leadership in all aspects of daily camp life and demonstrate faith in
action.

4. Maintain respectful conduct of all Great Escape participants.

5. Be attentive to the safety of all Great Escape participants.

6. Contribute ideas for activities, crafts, outings, and projects.

7. Be a team player, assisting and supporting others on staff.

8. Be accountable to accomplish leadership and planning assignments.

Great Escape 2023 Schedule:

· Full time summer position. Daytime shifts, M-F. NO NIGHTS OR WEEKENDS!

· Training Dates (paid): June 1-2 & June 5 – 8

· Camp Dates: June 12 – August 11

· No Camp: July 3 – 4 & July 17- 21

Salary:

· $500.00/per week

· $200.00/Sign-On Bonus

· $50.00/Refer a Friend Bonus (redeemable upon hire of recommended staff member).

· Daily lunches and snacks provided ($350.00 value)
