This is a training role within the Child and Young Persons Improving Access To Psychological Therapies Programme (CYP-IAPT). The post-holder will work within the CAMHS service providing interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. This intensive training post will equip the post – holder to provide interventions based on CYP-IAPT care principles and also an evidence based intervention consistent with their training course. The post- holder will work in the service for at least 2.5-3.0 days of the week using the newly developed skills whilst attending the training programme for the remaining 2.0-2.5 days.

We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic professionally registered mental health practitioners to work and train within our CAMHS service.

This is an exciting opportunity to train in the therapeutic modality of the in Circle of Security as part of the Under 5s pathway.

The Under 5s training will be in partnership with the Anna Freud Centre (UCL). This is a training position and so all candidates will need to apply for both the trainee role with our organisation and the UCL Post Graduate Diploma in Child and Young Person IAPT Therapy in order to be shortlisted (for more information about the course and minimum entry criteria, please see the course page:

Lewisham CAMHS is a thriving borough CAMHS service serving a diverse inner London population. We are comprised of eight multi-disciplinary teams as follows: Lewisham Generic Team (Horizon), Neuro-Developmental Team (NDT), Child and Adolescent Paediatric Liaison Service, SYMBOL Team (Looked After Children), The Lewisham Young People’s Service (LYPS), Child and Adolescent Wellbeing Programme (Lewisham), Adolescent Resource and Therapy Service (ARTS) and Mental health in Schools Team (MHST). We provide a range of evidence-based therapies to young people. We have strong links to National and Specialist Services and to the IoPPN at KCL and are actively involved in clinically relevant research and PPI initiatives. The service has well-established connections with other local services including education and social care, and local voluntary agencies.

As these are training positions, please be aware that this is a dual application process where you must be employed in a Recruit to Train funded job to also receive a place on the course, and vice-versa.
