The CAD/CAM Engineer will be a member of the engineering team in our precision metal fabrication facility supporting the aerospace and defense industries. Duties include creating and modifying manufacturing prints, setting up BOMs, creating 2D flat blank layouts for sheet metal parts and programming Amada turret punch presses.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create manufacturing prints from 3D models or STP files provided by our customers
  • Update or change drawings using Kubotek Key Creator and/or Autodesk AutoCAD
  • CAD layout – utilizing Kubotek Key Creator software and/or Autodesk AutoCAD
  • Sheet metal programming of Amada turret punch utilizing FabriWIN/AP100 software
  • Create and update manufacturing work instructions
  • Process Engineering and Revision level changes to drawings and shop routers
  • Create detail and layout drawings from verbal or written information
  • Create Bills of Materials in our Aptean Made2Manage ERP system
  • Create or participate in designing of process fixtures as needed (i.e. weld fixtures, checking fixtures, etc.).
  • Engineering Contract Review of customer orders and BOM
  • Interact with manufacturing to maintain familiarity with manufacturing procedures
  • Additional responsibilities may include creating paint schedules to determine material and application requirements for primer & paint

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree preferred, significant industry experience acceptable.
  • 5 years of CAD/CAM experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5 years experience and proven ability to program CNC machines
  • Interact with all levels of personnel as required (Quality, Production, Inspection, Management, Customers.).
  • Fundamental knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Ability to balance multiple projects at the same time
  • Knowledge of Engineering documentation, including BOMs, engineering change requests, engineering change orders, engineering change notifications
  • Knowledge of military and aerospace specs
  • Familiarity with an ISO9000 and AS9100 Quality environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $42.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Associate (Preferred)

Experience:

  • CAD/CAM: 5 years (Required)
  • CNC programming: 5 years (Preferred)
